Customer support +230 212 6000 | rma@compuspeed.mu

These Terms and Conditions explain how orders, payments, deliveries, returns, warranties and use of the Compuspeed website are handled. By placing an order or using the website, you agree to these Terms. Please read them before completing a purchase.

Nothing in these Terms limits a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws of Mauritius. If a mandatory consumer protection rule conflicts with these Terms, that rule will prevail.

1 About Compuspeed and these Terms

Compuspeed Ltd is a Mauritius-based technology distributor and retailer operating www.compuspeed.mu. In these Terms, Compuspeed, we, us and our mean Compuspeed Ltd. You and your mean the person or business using the website or buying products or services from us.

These Terms apply to purchases made through www.compuspeed.mu and to related delivery, collection, assembly, configuration and after-sales services. Corporate quotations, reseller agreements, tenders, project documents, product pages, promotions and warranty statements may contain additional terms. If there is a conflict, the more specific written term applies to that transaction, subject to mandatory law.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a contract to place an order. If you purchase for a company or another person, you confirm that you are authorised to bind them.

2 Website use and customer information

You must provide accurate, complete and current contact, billing and delivery information. You are responsible for checking the product, quantity, price, delivery address and payment method before submitting an order.

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password and access details confidential. Tell us promptly if you believe your account or payment information has been used without permission. We may suspend an account where reasonably necessary to protect customers, prevent fraud, comply with law or investigate misuse.

You must not interfere with the website, introduce malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, scrape the website at scale, use automated purchasing tools, misrepresent your identity or use the website for unlawful or fraudulent activity.

3 Products availability and pricing

3.1 Product information

We aim to describe technology products accurately. Images may be illustrative, and packaging, colour, accessories, ports, bundled software, regional specifications or minor technical details may change because of manufacturer updates or supplier availability. Check the model, operating system, language, keyboard layout, voltage, connectivity, dimensions and intended use before ordering.

For components, upgrades and custom computers, compatibility information and PC Builder recommendations are guidance based on available product data. You remain responsible for confirming your requirements unless Compuspeed has expressly agreed in writing to design or validate the complete configuration.

3.2 Availability

All products are subject to availability. Adding an item to a basket does not reserve it. We may limit quantities, withdraw products or decline unusually large, duplicate or suspected resale orders. If an ordered item is unavailable, we will offer a refund, an alternative of equal or better value with your approval, or another reasonable solution. We will not substitute a product without your consent.

3.3 Prices

Prices are shown in Mauritian Rupees and, unless clearly stated otherwise, include VAT. Standard delivery may be free where advertised and where the order meets the stated conditions. Charges for remote or special delivery, installation, assembly, configuration, data migration, licences, financing and other optional services will be shown or confirmed before the order is accepted. Prices may change at any time, but a change will not affect an order already accepted by us.

If a price, discount, product description or availability is obviously incorrect because of a technical or human error, we may contact you to confirm the correct details or cancel the affected item. Any payment collected for a cancelled item will be refunded.

4 Orders and contract formation

Submitting an order is your offer to buy the selected products on these Terms. An automated email, text message or webpage confirming receipt is only an acknowledgement and does not mean that the order has been accepted.

A binding contract is formed when we send an express order acceptance or dispatch or collection confirmation, or when we deliver the product, whichever happens first. Each dispatched product may form a separate contract. Electronic records and communications may be used to form and evidence the contract.

Before acceptance, we may decline or cancel an order for reasons including lack of stock, a pricing or description error, payment failure, suspected fraud, delivery restrictions, quantity limits or legal and regulatory requirements. If payment has already been taken, we will arrange a refund to the original payment method.

Keep your order confirmation and invoice. Contact us promptly if the acknowledgement contains an error. Changes are not guaranteed once processing has started.

5 Payment terms

The payment options available for a particular order are those displayed at checkout or confirmed in writing by Compuspeed. A method may be unavailable for certain products, values, delivery areas or customers.

Payment methods and key terms
Payment method Key terms
Online card or gateway Payment must be authorised by the card issuer or payment provider. The provider may perform security checks. We do not guarantee that every card or gateway will be accepted.
Bank transfer Use the order number as the payment reference and pay within the period stated at checkout, on the quotation or on the invoice. The order may be released only after cleared funds are received. Unpaid orders may be cancelled.
Payment on delivery Available only when shown at checkout or confirmed by us. Full payment is due to the authorised delivery representative before the goods are used or installed. We may require identification, restrict cash, decline split payments or suspend this option after repeated failed deliveries or refusals.
Mobile or instant payment Payment is complete only when the transaction is confirmed in our account or by the payment provider. A screenshot or customer-side confirmation alone is not proof of cleared payment.
Finance or instalments Subject to the finance provider's approval, identity checks, fees, interest and separate terms. Compuspeed is the seller, not the lender, unless expressly stated. An order is not confirmed until the required approval and initial payment are received.
Approved business credit Available only under a written credit agreement, quotation or invoice approved by Compuspeed. Payment is due on the stated date or, if no date is stated, within 21 working days of the invoice. For overdue business invoices, Compuspeed may charge interest at 10% per annum or the lawful rate stated in the applicable agreement and may recover reasonable enforcement costs. Consumer checkout orders do not automatically qualify for credit.

5.1 When payment is due

Unless payment on delivery, approved finance or written business credit applies, the full order total is due when the order is placed. We may authorise or debit the amount before acceptance to verify funds and reduce fraud. A product is not reserved and will not normally be dispatched until payment is confirmed.

5.2 Payment security and verification

Card and electronic payments may be processed by independent payment providers under their own terms and privacy notices. Compuspeed does not ordinarily receive or retain complete card security credentials. We may request reasonable identity or payment verification before releasing an order, especially for high-value, unusual or third-party collection transactions.

5.3 Failed or disputed payments

You remain responsible for the full amount due if a payment is reversed, dishonoured, recalled or charged back without a valid legal basis. We may place the order on hold, recover delivered products where legally permitted, suspend the account and seek reasonable recovery costs. This does not prevent you from raising a genuine billing or product dispute with us.

5.4 Refunds

Approved refunds will normally be made to the original payment method. Cash-on-delivery refunds may be made by bank transfer after verification. Processing by Compuspeed will normally begin promptly after approval, but the time for funds to appear may depend on banks and payment providers and can take approximately 5 to 15 business days. Delivery or service charges are refundable only where required by law or where the service was not provided because of our fault.

5.5 Ownership and risk

Ownership of a product passes only after we receive full cleared payment. Risk of loss or damage passes when the product is delivered to you, your authorised recipient or the delivery location you nominated, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

6 Delivery and collection

6.1 Delivery areas charges and timing

Available delivery areas, eligibility for free delivery and any charges are shown at checkout or confirmed before acceptance. Compuspeed currently advertises free standard delivery across Mauritius for eligible online orders. Remote locations, Rodrigues, outer islands, bulky products, project orders, pre-orders and special-order items may require separate confirmation, additional time or a delivery charge. Any delivery date is an estimate unless Compuspeed expressly guarantees it in writing.

We may use third-party carriers. We will take reasonable steps to meet the estimated delivery period and will inform you of a material delay when practicable. We are not responsible for delay caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, but your mandatory rights remain unaffected.

6.2 Your delivery responsibilities

You must provide a complete and accessible address, a working telephone number and any access instructions. Someone aged 18 or over must be available to receive high-value or bulky products. The recipient may be asked for identification, an order reference, a signature or a one-time code.

You must ensure that doors, stairways, lifts, corridors and the intended installation area are suitable. Unless expressly included, delivery does not include equipment installation, assembly, cable routing, networking, wall mounting, data transfer, operating-system or software setup, account configuration, disposal of packaging or removal of old equipment.

If delivery fails because no authorised person is present, the address is incorrect, access is unsafe or a payment-on-delivery order cannot be paid, we may arrange redelivery or collection. A reasonable redelivery, storage or return charge may apply if disclosed to you before the service is provided.

6.3 Collection

Where collection is offered, wait for confirmation that the order is ready. Bring the order reference, proof of payment and suitable identification. If another person collects, we may require your prior written authorisation and their identification. Uncollected orders may be cancelled after reasonable notice.

7 Inspection cancellation and returns

7.1 Inspection on delivery

Before accepting delivery, check the outer condition, model, quantity and visible completeness of the package so far as reasonably possible. Record damage on the delivery note and take photographs. You may refuse a visibly damaged, incorrect or materially incomplete product. Do not sign that a product is in good condition if a visible issue has not been recorded.

7.2 Cancellation before dispatch

You may ask to cancel an order before dispatch or collection preparation by contacting us with the order number. We will try to stop processing, but cancellation is not guaranteed once stock has been allocated, a special order has been placed, assembly has started or the product has been handed to a carrier. If cancellation is accepted, any refundable payment will be returned under clause 5.4.

7.3 Change of mind

Mauritian law may give rights for faulty, unsafe, misdescribed or non-conforming goods. A return solely because you changed your mind is separate and is not automatically guaranteed by these Terms. At our discretion, we may accept a request made within 7 calendar days after delivery if the product is unused, unopened, in saleable condition, in its original sealed packaging and accompanied by the invoice, manuals, accessories, licences, gifts and warranty documents. Custom-built computers, activated products and special-order items are not eligible once assembly, registration or procurement has started. Prior return authorisation is required.

Unless we supplied the wrong product or the product is faulty, you are responsible for safe return transport and any disclosed collection charge. We may reasonably deduct for missing items, damaged packaging or reduced value caused by handling beyond what was necessary to inspect the product.

7.4 Return exclusions

Change-of-mind returns are normally unavailable for the following, unless the product is faulty or mandatory law requires otherwise:

  • personal care, grooming, oral care, health, hygiene or intimate products after the seal has been opened
  • consumables, filters, food-contact items, opened cartridges, batteries or products with a limited shelf life
  • software, operating systems, licences, digital content, activation codes, gift cards and connected products after activation, registration or seal removal
  • custom-built computers, customised configurations, special-order products, installed components and products assembled or configured to the customer's specification
  • products damaged by misuse, poor storage, accidental damage, unauthorised modification or improper installation
  • clearance or final-sale items where the restriction was disclosed before purchase, except in relation to defects or other mandatory rights

7.5 Return process

Contact the RMA team at rma@compuspeed.mu or +230 212 6000 with the order or invoice number, product model and serial number, fault description and supporting photographs or video. Do not send a product without return authorisation. You are responsible for backing up and removing personal data, accounts, passwords and removable media before return. We may inspect and test the product before approving a repair, replacement, exchange, credit or refund.

8 Faulty products and warranties

8.1 Damaged incorrect or missing items

Report visible delivery damage, a wrong product or missing items as soon as reasonably possible, preferably within 48 hours, with photographs and the delivery note. The 48-hour request helps us investigate quickly and does not remove any longer right you may have under mandatory law. Keep the product and packaging available for inspection.

8.2 Product warranty

Warranty coverage and duration are those stated on the product page, invoice, warranty card or manufacturer documentation. Coverage may be provided by Compuspeed, the importer, manufacturer or an authorised service centre. The applicable remedy may involve diagnosis, firmware or software restoration, repair, replacement, exchange, credit or another remedy appropriate to the fault, stock availability and applicable law.

To request service, contact rma@compuspeed.mu and provide the invoice or other proof of purchase, product model and serial number, a clear description of the fault and the accessories reasonably needed for testing. Back up and remove personal or confidential data, passwords, SIM cards and removable media before service. Service work may require resetting, formatting or replacing storage. We are not responsible for data loss except to the extent caused by our failure to use reasonable care or where liability cannot be excluded.

8.3 Common warranty exclusions

Unless a warranty or mandatory law states otherwise, warranty coverage does not normally include ordinary wear, consumables, batteries beyond their stated coverage, cosmetic deterioration, accidental or liquid damage, misuse, neglect, overheating caused by blocked ventilation, pest or environmental damage, power surges, incorrect voltage, overclocking, cryptocurrency mining or other use outside the product specification, incompatible third-party components, unauthorised repair or modification, improper installation, failure to follow instructions, or removed or altered serial numbers and warranty labels.

If inspection shows that no covered fault exists, we may return the product and charge a reasonable diagnostic, transport or service fee, provided the fee or basis is disclosed before chargeable work proceeds. Warranty repair times depend on diagnosis, parts and service-centre availability. We will provide reasonable updates where a repair is materially delayed.

9 Promotions vouchers and reviews

9.1 Promotions and vouchers

Promotions are subject to their stated dates, stock, product eligibility, customer limits and any promotional rules. Unless stated otherwise, discounts cannot be combined, have no cash value and apply only to qualifying products. We may cancel or correct a promotion affected by error, fraud or misuse while honouring valid orders already accepted where reasonably possible.

A free gift or bundle item must be returned with the main product if a refund would otherwise leave the order ineligible for that gift or bundle price. If it is not returned, its stated value may be deducted where lawful and reasonable.

9.2 Reviews and customer content

If you submit a review, question, photograph or other content, it must be honest, relevant, lawful and must not infringe another person's rights. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to display and adapt that content for moderation and presentation on Compuspeed channels. We may remove content that is unlawful, abusive, misleading, promotional, irrelevant or exposes personal information.

10 Privacy intellectual property and website security

10.1 Privacy and cookies

We process personal data for order administration, payment verification, delivery, support, warranty, fraud prevention, legal compliance and other purposes described in our Privacy Policy. Personal data is handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2017 and other applicable Mauritian law. Payment, delivery, finance and service partners may process data under their own notices. The Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy form part of the website information but do not replace these sales Terms.

10.2 Intellectual property

The website, brand, layout, text, graphics, photographs, software and product information are owned by or licensed to Compuspeed and are protected by intellectual property law. You may use the website for personal shopping and legitimate business purchasing. You may not reproduce, republish, sell, frame or commercially exploit website content without written permission, except as allowed by law. Third-party trade marks remain the property of their owners.

10.3 Website availability and links

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may maintain, update, suspend or change website functions where reasonably necessary. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; we do not control or endorse their content, security or terms.

11 Liability and events outside our control

11.1 Consumer purchases

We are responsible for foreseeable direct loss caused by our breach of contract, negligence or other legal duty, subject to applicable law. We are not responsible for loss caused by inaccurate information supplied by you, misuse of a product, failure to follow instructions, incompatible third-party equipment, unauthorised modification, or an event outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, wilful misconduct, or any liability or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

11.2 Business purchases

For a purchase made wholly or mainly for business purposes, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, anticipated savings, goodwill, opportunity or data. Our aggregate liability relating to the affected order will not exceed the amount paid for the product giving rise to the claim, except for liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11.3 Events outside our control

Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by an event beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, cyclone, flood, fire, epidemic, strike, port or customs disruption, transport failure, power or telecommunications outage, cyberattack, government action, import restriction or supplier interruption. The affected party must take reasonable steps to reduce the impact. If performance becomes impossible or is materially delayed, we may agree a revised date or cancel the affected part and refund any amount paid for products not supplied.

12 Complaints changes and governing law

12.1 Customer support and complaints

Contact Compuspeed at +230 212 6000 or rma@compuspeed.mu for returns, warranty and after-sales matters. Provide your name, order or invoice number, contact details, product model and serial number, date, issue and desired resolution. We will acknowledge and investigate the complaint within a reasonable period. You may also seek assistance from the Consumer Affairs Unit or another competent Mauritian authority where applicable.

12.2 Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, payment methods, delivery services, business operations or website features. The version in force when an order is accepted normally governs that order. Material changes will be published on the website with a revised effective date.

12.3 General legal terms

If any provision is unlawful or unenforceable, it will be adjusted or removed only to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer an order or your rights without our consent, except where law permits. We may transfer our rights and obligations as part of a business reorganisation or transfer, provided this does not reduce your mandatory rights.

12.4 Governing law and courts

These Terms and each order are governed by the laws of Mauritius, including applicable consumer protection, electronic transactions and data protection legislation. The courts of Mauritius have jurisdiction, without preventing a consumer from using another forum or remedy available under mandatory law.
